Default About to start doing some contract console repairs, need some advice on pricing

Hello

I am about to take on some contract work doing RMA repairs on games consoles through a well-known games shop. The only problem is, I don't have the first clue about arranging the pricing when it comes to bulk orders.

We currently trade on eBay and through our website and our current pricing gives us some decent sales. But, when it comes to bulk orders, say 50-60 consoles per month, what would be a good way to calculate the pricing for our repairs so that we are not losing out on our sales. Considering the amount of work that will come through, I cannot possibly charge the client the same amount as those who send 1 or 2 consoles per time can I?

I know that the question is a bit niche, but I would think the principle of handling wholesale pricing on customers orders would in some way relate to handling wholesale pricing on customer repairs.

I quite baffled about this so any advice would be appreciated

You need to look at what other charge initially.

Two options I'd look at are:

1) You can charge a flat rate per item. Some you lose on but should make a profit on a majority. This also gives the retailer an easy pricing option and I feel is the best option. However you will have to establish your typical repair charge/parts price/hourly rate to establish your price.

2) Offer free assessment and quote a price.

Greedyboy sums it up perfectly as usual.

In that line of work, I would expect to be charged £30 per hour plus materials at cost so if that would give you a good living, work out how long it would take to do any repair and give the client a pricelist! Win, win!
