Starting up phone business

Hi there,
I'm on the verge of setting up a mobile phone ebay business, but selling ipods, digital cameras etc too. I have perchaused a list off Paul (who I'm sure many of you know on here) and have had some good contacts, but now looking for a solid base in the UK as a regular supplier. I have realised that it is much cheaper to buy in bulk, and fortunately for me I have the means to do so. I was wondering if anybody who currently has an ebay business selling mobile phones, has contacted the bigger firms like nokia for their trade prices?! I'm thinking of contacting the major companys as Ive heard that they do the cheapest prices- but not sure how to approach them?! Has anybody had any deals with them?! Would be grateful for any advice on this. Ive heard you would have to buy a minimum of 10,000 units?!

from listening on here recently deals for cheaper have been in the 500-2m pricerange

Im not sure but i think you would get around 5-10k from nokia as a moq tbh

Nokia won't even look at you unless you are one of their authorised distributors, even if you wanted to buy 10M handsets!

That goes for all major brands. So don't even dream of contacting them direct as they have their own distribution channels.

Ah yes! But the question now is how do you become an authorised distributor? I mean is it through like years of having a high up place in the trade? Could you perhaps look at a authorised distributor to buy alot of units?
