Didnt know where else to put this so here goes, just wanted to know what are the rules (if there are any) on selling on samples that you order from suppliers or maybe even giving them away as promotional gifts?

Just make sure they're in working order.

as samples they come in as "no commercial value".... so if you sell them and they catch you.... you may have a problem having not paid the vat or duty on them..... but its more likely to win the lottery 7 weeks together and the euro lottery too.... once they are in they are yours.... no one usually keeps a check on what you do with them unless you have had a container full of samples.... giving or selling they have to be of merchantable quality.

Just don't be a tight arse! Order samples, pay the costs and when you have played with one sell the others to get your costs back.

Well one's legal and the other isn't. Go figure

Plus depending how many pcs you are bringing in and the value, it's more hassle that it's worth declaring they are samples than it's worth.

I was saying no to profiting from them by selling them, I didn't say no to ordering samples or indeed paying for them.

I usually keep samples in case I need to demonstrate them to a client or use it as a resource later down the line. You could always give them away as a present to a family member, it depends on the value of the sample I guess and whether they were given to you free of charge.
