Default Looking for some starting advice Please

Hi im new here and like the rest of you looking to make some money.

Sadly im not too sure where to start, many products on here are either too expensive for me to start or require like 10+ to be bought at one time.

Im currently a 15 year old in school with a part-time £2 per hour job.

Ive previously attempted to sell Sweets and people kept stealing them and I also tried SIM cards but there wasn't enough business for that.

So really im looking for some advice on where to start and preferably some people who will happily let me buy in low quantities.

Two products which I could easily shift are probably USB Memory Sticks and Laser Pens (Definately got to get these somewhere)

Thanks Brendan

damn, i had this all writen out then forgot to post but anyway..
Have you tried designer clothes? All you have to do is undercut the highstreet and your fine, you could even buy from a cheap retail website!! I used to store pics on my phone when i was a kid.
Or ps3 and xbox 360 games get the new releases everyone wants in and sell just under the high stree price
With regard to the usb's and laser pens try china, a try alibaba.com or dhgate.com.

Hi Brendan!

The fact that you're in school could actually help you :-) There's a lot of money to be made in off line world but most of us can't get directly to the customer without opening a shop or at least reanting a market stall.

What should you sell? You should sell things your customers are interested in! Things like:

* Video Games
* Cool gadgets
* iPods
* Designer clothing (maybe, yeah)
* etc.

You see - if your friends are buying PS3 games @ Game shops for 40 GBP each, it wouldn't be that difficult to sell them for 35 pounds, right?

Welcome brendan, to the friendly forums.

Theres an old adage that you need money to make money and, whilst its not a hard and fast rule, it certainly helps. Do you have anyone who may be able to give you a financial leg up to buy stock?

@ Andy: Thanks for your help, there is a big thing for designer clothing and things like that.

Also If I could find some MOQ 1 prom dresses I could probably shift some decent ones as my prom coming up this year.

@ hardware: I think i am going to ask my mate from school if he wants to put about £25 in and ill match it then ill just start off on the smaller things like the laser pens unless I take the money first for the more expensive items and buy them in then.

Thanks for your help

Brendan

its good thinking about what people will want, but you will have to work hard to sell prom dresses as most parents will be wanting one out of a recognised shop?
But good luck and I think someone was importing them here a couple of weeks ago, maybe drop them a pm.

They might be a wee bit out of your price range with 20pcs, but i'm sure between you and a friend you could sell them?

Well currently some of the girls in my class have been spending hours in lessons looking at $500 dresses from America, if i could get some good ones there should be some good money to be made.

Correct me if im wrong but they seem quite expensive, I can get them for £2 off the market stalls and they work out at around £3.70
