You aren't going to get much cheaper than retail prices. Big retailers buy in the thousands, and make tiny profits per game.

And everyone buys from the big boys? Independents dont sell anything? How did you get on in your games business then, were you put out of business quickly?

I'm talking about the online world. I would say there are very few independent retailers making decent money selling brand new releases online.

So if i understand good your saying that big retailers buy fifa 09 in thousends?

Also dutch market is mostly same as Uk over here they sell fifa 09 for xbox 360, ps3 for 60 euro that like 40 pound. and for wii its 50 euro thats like 35 pound. It will be hard of course but problem is us people havent got the money to buy in thousends or we dont want to take the risk.

The good thing at moment is the EUK issue. This has been the best thing to happen for independents especially in the run up to Xmas and its all thanks to Woolworths. Obviously Fifa and that are still going to be released in the chains but could be that some of the releases due later might not.
Have to just see how the publishers handle it.

Jazzy is selling Fifa for £28. You want to sell it on ebay for £35, take away the fees and you might make a £1-2.

If you're were selling 100's a week it might be worth it, but you won't. You need to find a new product or a new market.

Why don't you think you can sell 100's a week?

For eBay sellers, there tends to be a more viable margin in older titles, in the UK anyway. I would personally advise against new release titles to begin with and only ever take small quantities. There are hundreds, even thousands of titles to choose from. You're still only ever looking at a profit of £1 - £2 (after fees), but the initial outlay is a lot smaller.

I'm afraid I don't agree D M, it is possible to sell hundreds of games each week. Not of the same title, if that's what you were originally getting at, but build a catalogue of titles and it's easily achieved.

gaffe14 - To be honest, if you only have 500 euros to begin with I would seriously consider looking into other areas. The industry is quantity driven and if you cannot sell in quantity, you'll be making tiny profits for a long time to come!

Of course, the markets are very different from country to country. I have supplied games in the past to countries in Europe where they were being retailed at £55! So my own experience is based on how the market is in the UK.
