Default What Is A Trader ?

Having viewed, as probably many of you have, 100's of wholesale/trade web pages, a lot state that you must prove to trade.

What conforms to being a trader?. In car sales you can just start up, no licence as such, just buy cars and sell them, and if you are selling over so many a year become legit, pay taxes etc...

Is this the same in the buying/selling game.?

What I mean is, if you are starting as a newbie, how do you get credibility as a trader, do you HAVE to start a business, in order to be seen as a trader or is it just red tape and most people willing to put thier neck out and ask suppliers will get goods from wholesaler wether they are a "trader" or not

For example, If I want to contact wholesalers have I first got to register as a business, and if so how. I was under the impression that it was only LTD companies that had to register with Companies House. As a sole trader how, where, who would I register with.?? to be a "trader"

Thanks for any info.

Credibility isn't something that you start with nor can buy. It comes with experience and good deals under your belt. In order to make your business credible you should be a registered business, have all your accounts in order and operate an ethical and hopefully friendly business.
