Arrow Need some advice on selling in the street directly to the public...

I've 250 bracelets to sell.

They're really popular in the UK at the moment and i've got the largest amount of stock.

I'm selling them for £4.99 on eBay at the moment and they've been selling well.

I was thinking of setting a little stall or whatever up in town and selling them on one wednesday night near Christmas (late night shopping = packed).

I would be selling them for £5 each or 4 for £15.

Does anyone know what legal route I have to take to sell on the street in the UK?

Also anyone have any general advice as it's my first time selling directly to the public...

You need to contact your local council, you will need a liscence to trade on most streets, a hawkers one allows you to sell but you have to keep moving. Don't try to do it without the right details, legit traders don't take kindly to freeloaders, and you might want to chew your meal at the end of the day.

I think renting a table to sell them at colleges and universities will be a good spot

I'm going to contact the council as soon as possible.

I think moving about would be easiest, as the goods shops/areas are spaced about and I hate sitting about .

Colleges is also a possiblity.

Do you need any permits ect for selling inside or outside?

Is it legal to sell or advertise within a college?

It would be up to the college to decide.

Each college is different. Here in the U.S. you could just go to the students office and rent out a table in the main building for like a $100 for the whole day...

I really don't know about England..
