Hello everyone, I have a few questions. I am looking to register a business in my state. I hear that if you register your business in your own name no forms are needed. Is this true? Also who would I contact in order to obtain the right documentation to successful register my business and obtain a business license plus a reseller license? Am I missing anything?

These are various things I was told I needed:
Business License
DBA Fictitious Business Name
State Tax Id / Employer Id Number EIN
Seller's Permit / Resale / Reseller's License / Tax ID
Federal Tax Id Employer Identification Number FEIN
Corporation or Limited Liability Company
Partnership / LLC Agreement

PLEASE HELP!

Thank you guys.

ok, here's what you need to do:

if you are registering urself as a sole prop. then go down to your local county office and fill out a Sole Prop registration/or DBA form

the second thing you will need is a wholesale permit which is also known as resale license.

Those are usually the 2 documents you need but this varies by state....

Not sure what state you're in, but most states have all the forms you need online. You may have to fill them out and mail them but they are usually there. Key things are to get registered with your state, get a Sale and tax certificate, and get your FEIN. The FEIN is from the IRS and you can get online easily. A little Google goes along way here.

Good Luck!
