What is there to gain in being a scammer?
I posted this in another thread in this section, but thought I should make another thread for it.. here it is
I don't understand the point of being a scammer. Don't these people just realise they will; in the end, always get caught? Sure they'll live the high life, but for how long, and they'll be living it with the guilty concience of scamming all those people. Once they get caught, they will regret it...VERY MUCH.
If they just realised that if they went about doing things legitimately, they could live the high life with just a little more work, and not have all the stress of being a scammer!
Sure all the big companies have done something wrong in their way up to success, but it was only because all their competing companies were doing exactly the same!
To all the scammers out there....WHY do you have to make other people's lives a misery to make your's comfortable? Selfish people.

I don't want to bring politics to the forum but these sorts of questions are similar to questions like;
"Why do people kill others?" "Why are there terrorists?" "Why do people rob banks?"
Simply because they have their own reasons. I'm sure scammers have their own reasons (whether we understand them or not). They may have a vendetta against the company supplying the product, or they may just be criminals looking for an alternative to "earning" the money/success.
You could ask a criminal - "What's the point in being a criminal?". I wouldn't really know where to start in what drives these people to break laws and rip others off, its just life!
Its a tricky one! - Interesting to see what others think..
On a side note; Please keep this subject area sensible, I don't expect to see a full scale riot going on in this thread in a few hours.

It can be a mixture of reasons why people scam it can run from desperation right up to it being their chosen profession.
Some people become scammers unintentionally, they get in to deep cant get out and bury their head then get called a scammer.Other people at the top end do it because its good money its easy to do ( especially if they have the right conections ) and at the end of the day theres so many people desperate for that good deal they are more or less ready and willing to give their cash away. And if its done properly it can be extremly hard to get caught.

I personally think believe it or not that it's down to overpopulation.
Many centuries ago, the world was a huge place with not that many people on it, so they were expanding, taking over new assets effectively. Now that all the world's resources are being used, the only way to get some more yourself it to steal off others.
There's so much competition doing everything these days that it's very difficult to find a niche. PS I'm not in anyway condoning scamming, so please don't have a go at me!

Why?
1. They don't always get caught. Only the dumb/inexperienced do.
2. Its easier than actually working.
3. Many people have no conscience.

The main reason is they don't like working for there money so they go about getting money the quickest way possible (Stealing). When you think about how many people are not educated about online scammers you come to realise just how easy and quick one person could steal other peoples cash. Its just greed.
