is there any way to get a business/personal loan of say around £1000 with really poor credit score?

Wouldn't recommend it.....You will end up paying a fortune in interest.....Credit cards for people with bad credit are your best bet though if you need the money that badly. Capital one credit cards.... Vanquis credit card etc.

What about an overdraft? Very expensive in short term but might solve the issue?!

If your credit rating is really that bad, the only loan you'll get will be from a licensed or unlicensed shark. Both will charge a fortune, but one will deifinitely get their money back.

Family may be an option if they know that there may be a delay in paying them back. Even if it all went Pete Tong and you had to get a job to repay the money.
