Mate, the best advice i can give you is to go and invest in Andy's video course. Is by far the best resource out there, and will get you well on your way to generating a second income.

Welcome to the forum.
You simply need to go away and research. Read up on this forum and spend time planning. Once you've worked out what you want to sell and have specific questions, you'll be better placed to get specific answers.

eBay Pulse is a good place to start to determine 'what's hot' in terms of eBay searches and watched items. It's free too:

Hi OP, and welcome,

If you research you're products well, and source quality at low prices, there's not much that won't sell, you just need to get the balance right.

My advice to start-up would be to choose a product that has a good life-span. No sense in purchasing a lot of the 'latest' trends in case something new comes along in 3 weeks and you can't shift the product as fast as you want or need to, which can happen, even to the best of us!

Also, i recommend you start with a product you have knowledge of, something you feel comfortable with, and perhaps buy a lot of - that way you will have a better idea of what is charged for the items, and will be more knowledgeable if customers ask you questions. There's hundreds of wholesalers & dropshippers on here who sell some pretty great products, so shop around and have fun!

Hi Coxy,

I agree with Rocker Locker. To add, the demand for what's 'hot' may be high but the supply/competition is also high. So do a lot of research and find a niche market with few competitors. There are a couple of excellent ways to find a good niche market:

1. You can start selling bric-a-brac on eBay from around the home. It's a great way to start because you not only get rid of stuff you no longer need, you also get profit from them, see which of them sold fast and with high bid price.
2. Use eBay’s completed listings to find products with high success rates.

When you’ve found a product that sells well, note the average selling price and remember that the wholesale price needs to be at least 20% lower than the retail price for you to make money.

Hope that helps! Good luck!

Cheers,
Haydee

Everything and anything sells on eBay

There is no such thing as 'one product that sells well'. Thousands of people buy on eBay for thousands of different reasons. Just use the 'completed listings' search to find out how your selected product is doing and to work out what prices they sell for. Remember, being the cheapest price won't always guarantee a sale
