license required for selling dvd setboxes?

Hey guys,

i want to start my own little side business to sell DVD shows (set boxes) online on my website, do i need to acquire any license? Don't know if different countries have different standards, I'm from Toronto Canada.

Is it mandatory to acquire these licenses? I'm not sure if you would need it if you make under $10000 a year. Or is it just by law you would need one to start a small business.

Suppliers will require a provincial sales tax number,every city has different rules on home based businesses.

The GST(Goods and services tax) has a $30,000 requirement before you need to register.There's no exemption limit for provincial sales tax.
