You can't moan that you can't afford the things you want if you havn't tried. You've got 7 grand...

Invest 1k or less into stock.
Spend abit of time researching
find a good place to sell.

By the sounds of it your also quite young, ok you start now and maybe make a tiny profit or none at all. But if you keep reinvesting and running your business right... then who knows where you will be in say 5-6 years or less.

There rant over !

Ps. You think you can't afford what you want. Ive got 4 years to make enough money to buy my bentley as my first car
lol rala well said

I'm struggling to give you anything constructive here Missdiva. I think we're on a different plane of existence, I don't mean that in a bad way. The way you have this 7 to 10k stashed away idly would give me the impression that your a person who doesn't like risk.

I can't ever remember leaving that kind of money idle, if you know what I mean. There's always been the next project or plan. Your focused on that 60k, where as I would live and breath making that 60k and would immediately look to the next project.

You have to thrive on risk. I also think your getting mixed up between been money motivated and just really wishing you had a shitload a money. I believe been money motivated is to actually like making money and all that it involves. Everyone's money motivated if it just mean's wanting 60k.

Before investing anything, I'd think do you really want to go the self employed route. Do some research, ask people in business what they've had to put into their business to get it of the ground.

I don't want to sound like a condescending **** here. Just be sure before throwing money at something that its the life you want.

Why dont you use say £800 of the £10K you have stashed and develop a website, research and buy some stock and see how you get on. Worst cast scenario you only sell your stock at cost of even at a loss, but you wont loose much relatively speaking and could gain much more experience!

It seems to me you want a total package Guareenteed to turn 10K into 60K with no effort, time or input whatsoever..
To be honest I would wish for that but then it's the making the money which drives most people not getting it handed on a plate..
I think your on the wrong forum and need to be on the lottery portal or Samaritans, maybe there you can get all you need.
Good luck with your future intentions.

Miss Diva - perhaps you can post about what you want to do business wise, that way, people can help i possible instead of just posting useless comments to an empty thread.

The OP simply needs to understand themselves, some people want security, and an easy life, other's are prepared to risk things and work for themselves with no guarantees.

The first kind of person tends to be employed, and normally always will be. They will never be self employed due to the risk element.

I've worked for 30 odd years, over half of that self employed, and personally have never been demotivated. That said, I am also not simply motivated by money, I prefer to work for happyness since money can only get you the things you want, but even money cannot buy everything that you need to be happy.

Stop talking and start doing something, no-one else will do it for you. I hope you take this in the spirit intended. If things don't work out so what? Risk 20% of your savings and make a start.

BTW, I decided I required an extra £20k over the next year, expensive 12 months coming my way with two daughters, and in the last two weeks I have already more than exceeded my requirements by 50%. Some of it was luck, but the decision to go looking for it and the action taken made it possible, simply talking about it would mean I would have been in exactly the same situation as before.

Best of luck. Just do it, anything, but do it.

Facebook, ok that's a business, but a poor example, how much did they start with? Yep, a lot more than £7k!

My point was that this (i.e. a buying and selling business) is not a way to get rich quick. I was being realistic.
facebook is actually a really good example. They started up with nothing, mark zuckerberg started it up at college and built t up from there. Digg.com is also another example and was started for well under £7000.

Anyone can be successful if they are prepared to put in the effort. In the first few years that quite often means working 12 hours a day & weekends etc. So if your the sort of person who likes a decent social life then forget it, go and get a job.

Also it's the thrill of chasing money that needs to motivate to you, not just I want a big house and a big car.
