Looking for a bit of help
Hi, I am new to the forum and thinking of starting to buy from wholesellers and selling on ebay. However i am 16 years old and im not sure if wholesellers will sell to me as i don't have my own business. Im just looking to make a small profit until i know what i am doing and i will then move on to bigger things.
Any help would be very much appreciated
Thanks

Re: Looking for a bit of help
Have a look through the marketplace, the vast majority of sellers here only require a means to pay and a delivery address

Re: Looking for a bit of help
Look around the forum daily and you can find community advertisers selling their stuff here. Just do your research and see how much margin you can get by reselling your wholesale and whether you can sell for a decent margin. PM me and I'll help you out with a possible product you can sell,
I'm 17 and I'm in the U.S., however just because I'm young doesn't mean anything, as long as you do your research and you really don't need experience, you'll gain experience as you sell more and more stuff, although you'll need some money to obtain the items considering the MOQ's, however there's always an idealistic opportunity in which you could even start off with 50 USD(25 pounds).

Re: Looking for a bit of help
My advice would be first to do dummy runs - look at the prices, MOQs and delivery costs of the stock you want to acquire. Then research what prices you could ** realistically ** sell at - e.g., research what prices you could get on ebay or what your competitors charge. Then see if revenue - costs > 0
(i.e, you make a profit).
Also, try to estimate how much time you have spare to devote to your business. I sell on ebay plys have a full-time job AND a family, and I can tell you that just selling 20-30 video games per week is pretty time-consuming when fitted in with everything else - the selling, the writing of descriptions, the packaging of items, and then taking them to the post office.
Good luck...

Re: Looking for a bit of help
First of all I would like to say well done! Its so refreshing to hear people of your age trying to get a foot on the ladder and doing something for yourself.
The best advice I can give you is to look only at stuff that interests you. For me it was any type of gadgetry - phones, ipods, rc cars helipcopters etc.
I actually started on ebay by buying on ebay, then selling the stuff BACK ON ebay. There are a lot of people who have x item and think I want £x for it. they list it, but do no research. If you are clever you can do this on all sorts of stuff on ebay. I started with a mobile phone that was regularly going for £100, but somebody had listed it for £70. I bought it (BIN) relisted it for nearer the £100 and after fees and postage came away with £20 odd profit. Its time consuming, and can be frustrating, but I started off with that £70 and kept on reinvesting until 7 months later I had £2000 and bought my first car. Yes I had setbacks, highs (£70 profit on 1 item!) and lows (selling something for less than I'd paid when I made occassional mistakes) but it was mostly fun and satisfying.
Its maybe something you could look at if you do not have a large amount to start with
Good luck whatever you decide.

Re: Looking for a bit of help
also what you could try is buying on amazon, selling on ebay, or vice versa.

Re: Looking for a bit of help
Good luck. The first step is always the hardest but one you start you will never look back. There are plenty of suppliers on this forum who would be happy to supply you without the need of any of the formal business accounts etc (which to be fair are easy enough to set up anyway).
