Has anyone else found this?

All it takes is a quick google search, which of course I do. I need to know competitors prices so I can know if i'm, well, competetive.

I keep coming up against these brick walls!

I'll start of relatively small. I'm not planning on stocking huge amounts to begin with. Just say 100 units for now.

What are you wanting to sell? Most of the biggest wholesalers don't always show up with a quick google search. Some don't even have a website.

Suppliers are out there. It just takes time to find them.

Good luck.

IT components. I figure starting off with RAM will keep my initial outlay down, say 100 units, then pump any profit straight back into buying more stock.

Yes, I have found a few that don't show up on google. Finding one that accepts sole trader business start up's is a different matter entirely! Some want a utility bill in the company name. I don't posess one 1. because I haven't started trading
2. because I'm working from home for now and don't need them!

I'm at a stage where I have nothing to loose!

I just need to knock some of those walls down!

Some companies only like to deal with established traders but there are some out there who are happy to deal with new traders.

Sometimes its worth filling out the account aplication form even if you dont have all the required documents. You never know.

Post a wanted ad in the Wholesale Forum Marketplace, or check out the computer section. there are a number of suppliers who deal with PC hardware (not my strong point to be honest). PCDropship for instance.

Yes. I am wondering if it's best to call as well and explain my intentions

In many cases a company letterhead is enough. Its deffo worth a phone call.

Like I said there are a few suppliers on this forum. None of which need require any trading history.

Good luck with your search. You will get there. It just takes time.

Yes i have noticed. I have also notice people selling on ebay and only making about 50p or less per item, after all the costs or even selling at a lost Some Ebayers think they are Tesco

I'm noticing that too! They must have really good deals with their wholesaler! I've found a graphics card that I can undercut everyone with on ebay but have found it with a google search for a price I'm willing to match. Sucsess I think! It's a lot of hard work, searching through to find something I can actuatlly sell competitively.
