Hello.
I have a problem which i hope someone can help me with. I am looking to expand my business into the itnernational arena and actually start to sell stuff in America.
When registering with one particular drop shipper i am being told that they require a US contact and US credit card for security purposes only. Obviously i do not have anyone in the US who i can provide as a contact.

It's such a shame really because the drop shippers i found have some excellent prices. Can anyoine suggest a way around this or perhaps i can do someone a favour in return for them being my US contact.

Any takers??????

In my opinion "drop shippers" do not exist so the chances are its just a scam anyways. My idea of a dropshipper is overstock.com, where you get a small discount off items and you are only required to buy one. If there is anyone in the US selling items at wholesale pricing with a MOQ of only one.. and some of the products they are selling is wholesale electronics I would steer clear. Just a thought.

I've checked them out and they are not a scam. They allow drop shipping but only to the US. There are no MOQs and they do not actually do Electronics. The do DIY tools and things. They have no problem with an overseas seller registering with them as long as there is a US point of contact available. I've tried speaking to them over the phone and they said that unfortunately without a US contact it is difficult to accept foreign sellers even if they only want to trade in the US market.

I've heard of people setting up contacts within the US, however you just need to make sure the person is honest and reliable. And sometimes they even ask for a percentage for working with you. I've had people abroad approach me at one time or another, so I know this does happen.

There are legitimate dropshippers all over the world. However, if you are looking for an electronics dropshipper, you may be in for quite a search.
