Hi. Im sure all of you must of heard of the Young-Enterprise project. Well im starting up and i am taking part in the company project. Which means i will have to setup a real company along with 5 other partners. This is part of education but we are allowed to sell out of school if you get what i mean. Websites and stuff.

On Wednesday 15th it is Enterprise day where people will start up a business for the day and all profits will go to charity. As i am doing the full year company programme all profits that we make are ours. So wednesday, for my company will be a day where we make capital to kick start our business.

Now what i am stuck on is the product(s) we are going to sell. What do you guys recommend that i can get alot of for cheap and sell on for alot. So basically buying something in bulk which is really cheap and selling each item for a good price. Our budget is £30.

Thanks alot.

For £30 you can't expsect to buy somthing for 50p and sell it for £10; Its just not going to happend. I am guessing that you are at School/ College then people are not going to be carrying wads of cash around with them, correct?. So you need to sell items for a few pound. This really isn't an area I have ever looked into but heres what I think you could consider:

100 x 6" Glow Sticks @ £34.95

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/100-x-6-GLOW-S...QQcmdZViewItem

The price is slight above your budget but its still a great price. Your getting them at 34p aprox. you could probably sell them at around 75p to a £1 maybe more. That doesn't seem like much but these could sell extremley well at different functions like the one you are having on Wednesday. If you manage to sell all 100 on Wednesday you will take £75 (If you sell them at 75p), that gives you a total profit of £40.05.

Just somthing for you to think about, Hope it Helps..:niceone:

OK, do you actually have to sell a product or could it be for a service? You could organise an Event or somthing and charge a admission, sell food & drink etc. etc.

It can be a service or product but we prefer a product.

How about sweets like Mars bars and cans on coke? I used to do it un-offically at school and I would make like £30 a day selling to my mates and other pupils.

You can get a case of coke for about 30p or less a can and then sell theses cans at 50-60p a can. The same with packs of mars bars, snickers etc.... get them for about 15p-25p and sell for 40-50p each.

As you know all kids like sweets and they will be a real hit with other pupils who want something to eat at break etc...

Try going to Costco or Mackro and see what sort of prices you can get.

You are easily going to double your money I would think

best thing is to add value to a product, buy something cheap and plain and then customise it, a friend of mine did young enterprise, they bought wool, and knitted scalves, its the season right now so that could be a big..
