Default Starting up a business selling cable tv with all channels

hi

i dont know which forum section this goes in so mods please let me know or move if this is in the wrong section.

I have been contacted recently by a friend who is able to get cable tv with all the channels that you would receive with Sky and telewest cable etc all free for a year. The channels include sports channels for sunday matches open for a year, movie channels such as sky movies, premium channels etc. All channels are open for a year and are viewable and this is completely legit, nothing dodgy about it.

Setting up the dish abnd box and installation is included in the price. We are mainly aiming at pub owners and other people that own other public places as pub owners pay a huge fee to show football such as sunday matches in their pubs and i can beat these prices.

i am looking for people who own pubs to advise me on whether they show tv in their pubs and also if they do how much they pay a year to ave the cable tv.

thanx

If pubs get sky installed then they have to pay a huge fee for this privelage. To prove that they have got the correct card in their sky box a pint glass on the bottom corner of the screen will appear. If this pint glass does not appear it means that they are using a sky card which is meant for residential viewing and not viewing in a pub. This is illegal and can result in the pub being fined.

Not sure if it is the same with cable

as paul1997 said, what you and your friend are going to attempt is illegal. All cable subscriptions have to be bought through ntl:telewest and they do not offer free cable, sure they may give you an incentive for 12 months, but you still have to have their equipment and a live valid subscription which only they can provide. I suggest you do a little research about the houses that were raided in the cardiff area.

There is nothing illegal about this business as we have been to many solicitors to ask about legal advice and they have all said that there is nothing illegal about this.

The boxes that are installed are fully registered and not chipped as some people are offering as these get canceled after a few months anyway and this is against the law and this is not being offered by us.

the boxes and cards that come are fully registered and legal and about the pubs paying a fee the only difference is that they pay a lower fee and they have nothing to worry about the equipment being confiscated as there is nothing illegal about this.

and about the cardiff houses being raided that has nothing to do with this as if you know anything about that the boxes involved were chipped which is illegal and the boxes and theeir cards that we provide have not been tempered with and are fully registered and show all channels including all the football movies etc free for a year.

Mod Edit: Removed

thanx

So if you claim to offer a lower fee how are ntl:telewest getting their money to provide the service? I still don't see how you can get around this, because as soon as ntl:telewest don't get their money they cut you off for non-payment.

the service is payed for only not to ntl:telewest but another company that also provides that service and therefore there is nothing illegal about it as the service is being payed for only not to ntl:telewest but to another company and any solictitors we asked said that this is completely legit

So the feed comes from another country?!?

If so then to get the football(Premiership) streamed from outside the UK without the permission of the premiership! would make it illegal

it is streamed from outside the uk but they have the permission from the premiership and from ntl:telewest as the satlite has been bought from the major telecommunications company in uk
