Please help: D&H vs. wholesale vs. liquidation.com and other ways to dropship
Ok, so i decided i wanted to try and sell things, mainly computer electronics, on ebay. I contacted sony, and nintendo, they both said to go to their distributors in my area. That led me to
www.ingramentertainment.com
and
www.dandh.com
so i called the distributors and they said i needed to be a business before i saw any prices. Ok, easy enough. I went and got my tax id number number and an official business name. Now i'm registered with D and H, but looking through their website, i can't find anything they sell that's cheaper than ebay prices. IN fact, most of what they sell is MORE expensive than the ebay price!
I'm so confused now! Are distributors like DandH what i want to be in contact with? What is the difference between a distributor and a wholesaler? Because when i was registering my business, there were checkboxes for me to register as a wholesaler, but i though wholesalers got their stock from distributors...
I feel like i've been blinding swinging at the pinata! All i want to do is what anyone else wants to find something that i can sell for a small profit, and to do it over and over.
Can someone help me understand the chain of command here and point me in the right direction?
Also is $5-10 net profit per item two much to ask for? eg. finding something that i could sell maybe 10-20 of a week?

oh, and something else that popped into my head.
would buying lots from this site http://www.liquidation.com/ and breaking them up to sell on ebay be profitable or not? Am i just going to end up breaking even? How much of this "as-is" stuff, or "returns" is not going to function at all?

I have accounts with ingram and D & H as well and there prices are terrible for eBay and for one reason, they don't bulk discount. Years ago when I was setting it up and they were giving me prices over the phone, they would quote me like $47 or $48 for a brand new just released $50 video game. I asked them if they can do any better or bulk discount and they said it doesn't matter if you bought 1 or 100, you will always get the same price.

but from what i can tell on the nintendo website, they are the authorized distributor of nintendo pruducts in the USA. Is there anywhere else to get nintendo products cheaper? (Of course i'm not just interested in that, but it's the first thing i found them for.)
Am i on the right track?
I noticed that MustHaveMobiles has a sticky that links to http://www.worldwidebrands.com/
Is it worth it to pay them for access to dropshippers? Meaning, am i going to find competitive prices with a decent margin by investing in that list?
oh, and what does anyone know about liquidation.com?

eBay has become a liquidators market place,it`s below wholesale in a lot of categories!
Most of the electronics on eBay is Open box(Store returns)or refurbished electronics.

You should get a shipping quote before you bid on any items at liquidation.com.They have a very high shipping freight cost on there auctions!
Here`s one thread about liquidation.com
Possible supplier

yeah, i have an account with liquidation that i've held for over a year, and i usually include the shipping quote into my prices, but i still haven't had the nerve to buy anything from there.
So is what i'm asking even possible? To drop ship on ebay and expect to make a couple hundred a month?

If your going to drop ship your best option is to have your own website,eBay and Pay pal fees cut into your profit margin!
You need to find items to sell on eBay that have a higher profit margin than electronics!

You need to research this forum first. Every question you have has been discussed in detail before.
Go to advanced search and type in "Ingram". Take a look at some of the bigger threads.
