Default Chinese Suppliers

I am new to all this (just registered today) so apologies if I have created a post which may have been posted before.

I would like to start up my own business trading via ebay to begin with selling electronic goods such as ipods, psps etc. Having paid on ebay £6.99 for a list of mainly uk suppliers, the quality of leads was poor to say the least.

I then decided to look at ways of finding other suppliers and came across 2 suppliers based in China upappleipod.com and online-exporter.com offering nintendo wiis for 193usd and 169usd respectively.

My gut reaction, unaware until now of these scams was to place an order. Having stumbled across this website I am now 99.9% convinced not to place the order for obvious reasons.

So my questions are: Has anyone heard of these suppliers and is it generally best to avoid Chinese Suppliers like the plague?

Any help is greatly received.

They will be scammers. Those prices aren't possible.

There`s no authorized wholesale distributors for most name brand products in China.Retail stores in china buy direct from the manufacturers!

China is only good for unbranded products(No Trademark).

don't source your suppliers from mainland china for those branded consumer electronics products. there are a few wholesalers for these products in mainland china, only a few!! these wholesalers get their products from either japan or hk. for ipod, don't bother with it. ipod is not popular in asian countries and the price is much higher than western country. i doubt it if u can even source the wholesalers for ipod in hk. mp3 from japan n south korea is much more popular than ipod for their price and quality in hk and japan. i only came across one ipod wholesaler in hk, they source it from usa, now they don't do it any more coz there is no market and profit for ipod in hk.

When prices are too good to be true, it usually is. Do your market research and do price comparisons. Products such as Nintendo WII, Xbox360, PS3 etc are controlled items. There are just too many scammers who are trying to make quick money telling people they can supply game machines at rediculously low prices !
