Hi,

Thanks for letting me know about your experience and sorry it was a bad one. I have tried for ages to get some insight into them from some-one that has dealt with them. However, I want to buy artifical trees and soft furnishings so the fake issue will not effect me, but only getting 1 when ordering 30 obviously would! I asked for samples which states that they are $3.50 each but they don't state this is more like a service charge for following up samples requested. As this came to a much higher price than ordering a full load I dediced not to go ahead with the samples. They then took the $70 and told me it was a service charge, so at least I've only lost $70. I'm still interested in the the products on offer though and I believe that the sample fee may be refunded on an order.

However, after reading your post now I best not go ahead.

Any-one else dealt with them and had success?

It is unbelievable i purchased digital cameras and the courier told me that they had actually sent mp4 players thet were exact imitations of apple nano with the fake logo on it and everything, and instead of 30 pieces the courier told me they sent only a few pieces....The thing is that i have purchased before this mp4 players that look similar to apple nanos but they are never seized by the customs of any country if they dont have a fake logo or something...also because they are mp4 plasyers and not only mp3 like apple nanos and the software inside is normally patented by the factories....but the important thing is that i did not even purchase mp4 i purchased a completely diofferent item that was much more expensive it was a digital camera....this was really a SCAM in all of its beauty and besidfes why they dontr answer me... Mod Edit:- Removed Bad Language

Default greetings from smallvolume

Dear readers,

I represent the top management of this company and also proud to be one of the key founders. We are a dynamic young company with hopes to make importing from China a total no-brainer for worldwide buyers, but must importantly a trusted organisation which whom to entrust your funds to. I came across this forum and am surprisingly flattered that our young company is currently the source of discussion in this forum section.

With regards to neneto's dissatisfaction, I would like the opportunity to explain the true nature of the dealing. Smallvolume.com is a b2b service provider where are a destination for sellers in China to list their wholesale products for sale in small quantities. Our minimums is only one carton. Our value added service involves verifying each supplier, offering convenient credit card and paypal payments to customers for safer transaction trading. We purchase your products from suppliers of your choice using our unique escrow payment mechanism to ensure suppliers provide you the goods as intended so WYSIWYG. If you are buying from mutiple sellers on our site, you only need to deal with us in English language, and we perform the tasks of consolidating your goods from suppliers from different locations, and sending them to you as one single shipment so you wont have to pay multiple shipping fees.

As in the case of neneto dealing, you took the faith in our company and ordered your goods. Everything was fine and dandy till the unfortunate event where you goods was actually seized, not held up, but seized by customs on transit to your country in Miami. Customs checks are usually part and parcel of importing internationally, and rare do they get held up at customs. If they do get held up, it only takes some proof of documents and some time before they are rereleased back to the customer. In your case, it is actually the first time that customs, for whatever reason, deemed you products as counterfeit (which they are not) and seized them without offering a chance for either of us to dispute the case. This cases are extremely rare, and customs may have been on high alert during that period. Clearly yes, the products were Nano lookalikes, and that is exactly what they are, lookalikes. They in no way bear the apple/nano logo on the product or their packaging. And even comes with a CE certificate as proof of quality of authenticity. Hence, this does not classify the product as counterfeit, and not in our power to take the supplier listings down. In fact, these same Nano lookalikes are sold by not one, but quite a few suppliers in our electronics category and have been shipped all along to many destinations without a problem.

Holding our company responsible may be inadequate we'd argue. Our staff has already provided you the necessary documents for you to contact customs about this matter. Also, on the TNT receipt we emailed you, it clearly states the contents of the package as MP4s with a combined weight equivalent to 30 units, and not only the few units that you clamied that we shipped. We clearly give the buyer their own decisions as to what products they want to buy, and those looking at these nano lookalikes know they are such, since they don't bear apple/nano brand logo on their products. As to why customs seized them, we too are unable to exert control over it, since every country's customs laws and regulations as to what products can be imported into the country is different. It's simply impossible for us to keep track. Since we used your funds to purchase these products on your behalf from a reputable factory which we had many dealings with, we simply don't have the ability for a refund, since there is no chance to acquire the seized items back for an exchange. And if you look up common ecommerce websites that ship internatinally, one of their clauses would be they cannot be held responsible if items ordered are seized by customs in their country for whatever reason. I suggest you can google "seized by customs" and you will be able to see this clause in many websites. On the other end, we truly sympatize with this rare unfortunate event, and will do our best to try to get the factory to offer you some compensation units if you still have problems getting your products out from customs, but this would be at their disgression. and

We are not in the business to scam customers by rather want to do just the opposite. Protecting your hard earned investments and offer you hassle free importing from China. Our organisation is foreign run, and we abide by the good ethics of business. Just recently, an honest african businessman decided to deal with us and another company and wired both our companies thousands of dollars. The other company took his money, and after his disappointment of dealing with China companies, he decided he wanted his money back from us too. We speedily wired him the money back (less the bank charges we had to pay), as it would be evil for anyone to deprive a businessman of his savings. After all, I myself am a true believer of integrity and hope to run the company as such. I came across an forum which describes the plight of scammed customers and hope it can offer you insignts as to how to avoid pitfals of importing from china. See http://resources.alibaba.com/topic/1...rom_China_.htm

Sorry for the long article, but I thought some issues had to be defended and cleared up. Good luck to all!

Yours sincerely,

James Lam

Hello James,

I am very glad that I started this off as to have now received the lengthy article from you does help. I have seen your name as a contact reference on EC21.com which also shows your company profile. As I am new to importing goods I've searched for many many hours on the net but I could not find any other people using your company who had left comments on the net. I am interested in purchasing goods from your company which may well go into the thousands in the future as I'm starting off a business.

I'm still deciding ....but I would like to go ahead! Can you please give me any other information that would make me be more positive to proceed?

Regards,
Janine.

Hi guys, I'm another wary prospective buyer.
I did a simple "SmallVolume.com scam" search and here I am!
There are plenty of sites out there hoping to lighten you wallet.
You can't be too careful when it comes to your hard earned money and the internet.

After reading your huge post James, I'm definitely feeling more confident now.
As for previous posts mentioning sites like Chinavasion etc.. And comparing prices,
I believe these are a lot higher because they are obviously not wholesale prices.
A simple eBay search will reveal this... unless most eBay sellers are selling at a loss?

I love the idea of displaying the actual wholesale prices and then charging a service fee.
This is a very honest and informative approach and will definitely give you the edge over the competition.

I'm also an importing newbie and I'm hoping to purchase a few things at first and then progress into much larger orders. I'd also love some more conformation about your business. A legitimate post from a happy customer would be a great start.
(Hopefully there will be someone along soon)

Overall this appears to be an excellent opportunity for those of us that aren’t quite at the container load level! (yet)

Regards,
Jeremy
