Default Verifying A Supplier...

Hi all

I just wanted to get some good info on what steps there are on verifying a certain supplier, other than obvious aspects such as item pricing/realism/professionalism/payment terms etc could anyone help me out on how i would go about doing some other steps to confirm a supplier is legit.

There are some posted in the article section but i simply want to know how some of these steps are done. Eg, searching the info of a supplier on sites to get there adress details (i need abit of info on whois as i only find hosting details on there...) and contacing trade consulars in national embassies etc

1. Address check, check that the address for their business is legitimate and checks out to be associated with them.
By phoning?
4. For overseas companies, trade consulars in the national Embassies can be very informative.
Need a bit of help with this
Could someone tell me how i would do these kind of steps or any other usefull ones which would help

-Thanks Alot

1 company information, like name ,products, zip, telephone.you can find if they have website.
2 it is hardly to find they are cheat you or not if you just by national Embassies .they only can find big company.

for small OEM company ,you can not find.
almost shoe company, they make OEM order for CHANNEL,LV .they real didnot have website.I know.

1. Check the whois information for the website, see if it matches the contact information on the website.

2. Check the online yellow pages and see if the company is listed and check the yellow pages information and see if it matches the website and whois information. You need to watching out for corporate identity theft.

3. Check to see if the company is legally registered. List of Worldwide Registries at
http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/lin...tion.shtml#reg

4. Do a google search on the company name and see what infomation shows up.Search Tip put quotes around the "company name".

5. List of UK Embassies at http://www.fco.gov.uk/servlet/Front?...=1007029395231

If companies try to hide there contact information in the whois registries.Stay away from the website.
