Found this site when trying to check if the supplier i have found has a company registration number.

http://www.icris.cr.gov.hk/csci/

By typing in the company name i got the company number and a list of other things that might help. It did not cost anything to get the basic stuff but if you want more details then you have to pay!

You can actually get a whole lot of info from that site. No idea how official it is but that's as close to an experian company search as I've seen for Chinese/HK companies. Good find.
