Default How are Chinese suppliers and how to deal with them?

When you talk about Chinese suppliers, it is a very big concept, China has so many provinces, and the business practices are different from each other.
Basically Chinese suppliers respect foreign clients a lot, and they are very much interest in doing international business.
But many clients always blame some Chinese suppliers did not fulfill goods within delivery time, factories could not ensure the stable and good quality.
These problems happen with many Chinese manufacturers, because some of Chinese company are not very good in “management” that could cause lots of problems.
But it doesn’t mean you could not control it, as a client, controlling the quality from the very beginning could prevent you from being a victim.
I learned this lesson from One British man-my former boss, he is based in Ningbo and dealing with car accessories. Whenever before the bulk production, he would send a sample to the factory, and ask the factory to make counter sample, this is common way. But when the counter sample finished, he would made a “sample assessment report” in which almost each of every points would be mentioned in the sample assessment report. By this way he would find out what possible quality problems may occur in bulk production, so in this he would be alterative to avoid any kinds of quality problems happen in production. Because he stop the quality problem in the very beginning, he won lots of orders from America, UK, Australia, because he really take care of quality problem and he know how to deal with Chinese factories.
But my conclusion is client’s own awareness is very important, whenever you place an order to Chinese supplier, you have be alterative and always supervising on it.
