I am another newbie to this site and only just registered, so hello to everyone here

I have however been reading the multitude of threads on this forum for the last 6 months and know most of the names on here from reading these. There are some very good threads here to read and it seems to be one of the best forums with genuine people helping each other out.

I have gathered a fair bit of knowledge of the wholesaler world and have had my fair few dealings of the scum that scammers are.

I have never purchased anything from them as I go into great detail prior to buying anything from a company. As soon as you here western union or T/T or other wire payments you learn to run a mile. I even had one company try and prove their authenticity by sending me their BS standards documentation (Formation Capital Ltd) to prove they were genuine. It turned out to be fake registered to a aeroplane manufacturer!!

All these scammers tend to live on Alibaba or tradekey etc still trying to scam you at some rediculous time of night (appologies for any genuine sellers on these sites but I havn't come across you yet!).

Anyway, after spending hundreds of hours of my time investigating the puchase of consoles and other electronic gadgets I have got to the stage where I believe there are very little genuine traders out there where you can buy PS3's. Or they are too near to retail prices to even contemplate making any profit. I have read some threads on this site where you can buy PS3's for £300! I am not sure if I belive this but maybe I have not gone into the dark corners of cyberspace to find these magic wholesalers! I am also not stupid enough to think that someone on here will just hand over that magic company name....after all, they have probably spent months/years trying to find them, themselves!

So what to do! You can try the main distributor Centresoft, who will sell their consoles for £3970 for 10 units and there is no way after your ebay fees and shipping fees that you will make any money. You can try and blag silly postage fees on top but I think the majority of people out there will pick up on this prior to making a bid. Plus I dont want bad feedback for sending stuff which is way above tacceptable postage costs and do not wish to con people this way!

So the next thing is to ask if people on here wish to sell their PS3 stock at a good price. They then get to order more units from the distributor and buy more in bulk cheaper and profit from the markup from selling to me. I then can make a little profit until I find that magic company name which I will continue to search for until I go crosseyed! Its wishful thinking but is there anyone interested. Its probably a ridiculous statement and am sure people will tell me soon!

Anyway, heres hoping

Tim

have you gotta spend all your time searching for ps3 suppliers.
Why not start out selling games, controllers, etc, etc
at least you will build a reputation & get to know the business before diving in head first

Although most scammers do so because of wester union dont not trust a supplier just because he offers this as a payment method.
I know this for a fact as i reguarly use a supplier which i use western union to pay

thanks for reply bennets. I buy alot of apparel items from china but if a company really wants your business and they are legit they will not normally ask you to use western union as they know most buyers are very sceptical about using this method. I understand that This can be used once a good relationship has been built but for first time orders it would be crazy to use. With regards to selling software instead i looked into this and this is what centersoft has advised and also profit would be better. Again its about finding a good contact. do you know any good ones that i could source through people on here. Im not asking for company names but do you sell items like this. Thanks Tim

That would be very much appreciated. Really ps3 console and accessories and wiis and x box items. Alot of web sites do think that retro gaming will be a big thing to come but im not so sure and not really that interested in that! Looking for other suppliers of clothing as well as my main supplies struggles to stock enough but that would be on another thread! Do you really think that someone can buy ps3 for 300 on only 10 units as said in another thread?

Hi Bennetts, no one has got back to me with any offers so I think im on another stop - doh!!! Either that or im the most impatient person in the world. Would you advise going to Centresoft and going with the software stuff that they advised on.

Another problem is that they did say they would send me an account form out and also info on best buy items. Im thinking that my business to them is more of a hassle to them (ie only £2000). Ive written a few polite emails and spoken to the guys on the phone. It probably doesnt help that im not VAT registered yet or don't have much experience in the electronics trade. I do know the products well though...i think.

Any thoughts would be very welcome.

Thanks Tim

Hey FTW,

I'm not selling PS3s at the moment because I'm in the accessory business, but I can get my hands on them.

I could get you a NEW Jap Model PS3s 60GB for $490 which is equal to about 245 POUNDS.
So when you add a VAT of 17.5% + a 2.5% duty fee or something....we're looking at about 20% = 50 pounds.
And then there is shipping. From the USA to the UK for one unit, We are probably looking at around $50 = 25 POUNDS...maybe a little less maybe a little more.

So what we have is the PS3 delivered with all fees, VAT, and shipping payed for about 320 POUNDS.

I could send you one unit, see how things go, and talk from there.
