you still banging on about this?

you think people on here don't know they can source products cheaper in asia?

why the hell do you think thats where we buy our goddamn products from???????

The point is there is a reason why nobody with half a brain sources branded electronics from asia and that is because world prices are fixed throught their distribution network on a global scale.

You may well find cheap versions but they haven't come through official distribution channels because those prices are fixed by the manafacturer to make sure their first world retailers don't get stiffed by the likes of us importing them for pence and undercutting their official channels.

Therefore if you are getting them cheap they are

a) fallen off the back of a lorry

b) counterfeit.

Personally I buy neither and that is why when sourcing from asia all my goods are unbranded from the factory. At that point your original post is absolutely correct, thats why I buy them, low manafacturer overheads and good exchange rate means I get product I can make profit on.

I can already suck eggs thank you.

[quote=howdythere;143719]redsky - And as far as comparing Malaysia to Indonesia Muslims is like saying the US and UK are the same becasue they are both Christian nations. No offense, but that is really stupid to say that.

Dont forget there is a huge pond that divides us.No similaraties between the malay and indonesian cultures including religion ok i never realised that with them being so close. What about the thais in southern thailand?I did read they actually originate from malaysia.Hey carry on calling me stupid.I wish i studied business like you.I cannot really imagine you sat there listening and agreeing. Why?Well you know it all.I took the hard route(nearly 30 years ago) and learnt for myself as i went on.Travelled well, but i am not as ignorant to claim i know a foreign land as well as someone who's country it is.You strike me as being like some of the backpackers i occassionly bump into here. They think they landed with captain cook. All full of hot air just like your good self.Read your childish other post about other members being rich.It might please you to know i am not......but maybe in my next life.Give us a break leave your advise out until you can give it.

Hi all,

I have been prowling the forums in equal hopes of finding opportunities to dropship electronics from Asian countries.

In response to this post as an informed Asian and neighbour to Malaysia, I can confirm that prices are indeed lower for electronics here as compared to US,UK and Europe and even Australia.

This is a common knowledge and probably comes as no surprise to senior members of the forums. However i can safely confirm that most if not all brand name electronics are cheapest from Hong Kong.

The only reason Singapore ranks closely behind in pricing is not because of pricing factors as mentioned by howdythere. It attributes to our trade policies and tax duties on such items (electronics) to be much lower than that of the above mentioned markets.

The next biggest reason that these electronics come cheaper is because of the electronics intended markets of use. Which is commonly referred to as grey market electronics. This happens when electronics are sold from countries outside their intended markets. IE Nokias intended for the Philippines ending up in Singapore. This is not an uncommon phenomenon as in the case of many dropshipping companies dealing with electronics.

To keep this thread objective for the benefit of all users of this wonderful forum, i urge us all to remain calm and focus on the facts instead of the arguments.

howdythere: is there anything you can provide us/me since i live near malaysia and i assume ure talking about KL where u are.. On the prices you have obtained the goods? A shop or a place to go to verify your claim would put an end to this senseless chatter. I believe in the interest of everyone we all care only of the authenticity of this claim.

Welcome to the forums.Just hope your not his mate though(only joking)one's enough.Personally not interested in the items to be honest.I only replied to his post as i disagreed with some of his points.Which by the way I know i am right about But there would be plenty of interest if the Iphones became available at them prices from the other members.Maybe you can help finance the deal or give him a "finders fee" because I dont think howdythere knows where his next bowl of rice is coming from.

Definitely not a mate of his, just a fan of accurate information. Everyones looking to earn that extra buck or 2... But there always seems to be a problem with information asymmetry... If today i am able to plug that information gap for the benefit of everyone then why not? There something to gain for it after all if its proven true

BenDaMan - When is the next time you are coming to KL? If you want you can give me your number and when you arrive I will be more than happy to show you. Further more you can even call Apple and verify the serial number before buying the item. My neighbor got one from the price I metioned before. It is completely legit. You can even see his before deciding to buy any. I will even go a step further and not charge you a finder's fee. But hopefully you can report back on this forum to the accuracy of this so noone will question me in the future.

I am a little confused. Hong Kong(PRC) is cheaper than actual China?? Wow I travel to both and I would strongly disagree. Hong Kong market areas have more selection but true China is cheaper. The PRC is always more expensive because the PRC (Hong Kong and Macau) are tourist destinations. It is a known fact to any Malay who travels there that the real deals are in interior China. Hong Kong is the WORLD's 5th most expensive city to live in. Just google it. The 5th out of the whole world. Hong Kong is there for the shows and glitz and glamour. Dont be fooled.

And Singapore closely behind. Then ponder me this. Why is Malaysia increasing tolls and taxing items leaving Malaysia into Singapore due to the fact that Singaporeans are constantly crossing the border to buy cheaper products to take them back to Singapor. This is constantly in the news here and the Prime Minister talks about it weekly. It is in Malay newspapers almost daily due to people complaining that it is not fair and the government needs to stop this.
