How good is the Trust pass part of alibaba? I got a message with ridiculous prices for items, 360 elite for $120 for instance. Since this guy is a scammer, how does he get approved by trustpass? This is the message :

Hard to say how they check in individual countries. I am a trustpass member through my UK company and the checks that they did was as follows:-

1. They asked me for a copy of my landline BT bill in company name

2. They asked for copy of my VAT registration certificate.

3. You then get a phone call from the Credit Agency to your landline number and they will ask to speak to you directly.

4. They also check that your place of business is in a commerical building and not at home.

However, if all the trustpass members provide these info does not mean they are NOT capable of scamming. You still have to use your business acuman to check and verify your suppliers whether they are trustpass, gold supplier or free member.

ask them heaps of questions... call them if need be to see if its legit... never accept TT western union bank transfer/wire transfer... use paypal or any secure payment system.

Even if I use paypal, they can still rip me off. I send them the payment, they do not send me the shipment, I am still out the price I sent to them. Right?

Not if you use a credit card to fund the PayPal purchase. You can always fall back on a credit card chargeback.
