Actually, I don't consider this a hijack of the thread I started. How many ipod scammers can there be in Edmonton Canada.

That's very interesting, I am going to contact the authorities sooner now rather than later. If anyone else got scammed by someone selling iPods in Edmonton, please PM me and lets work together.

I feel really angry at myself for getting scammed, but his guy had over 450 feedbacks on ebay with a 97% positive rating. And he had been on iOffer over a year... not just a few weeks like most iPod sellers and had positive feedback there too. But I did mail him an international money order which I should have known better than to have done, but I did it by registered mail, so I know the address he gave me was good and I got a signature. Well, at least it will give the police a starting point, assuming they even bother with it.

If you are happy for people to ask other questions on your thread Gary that is totally upto you.

My job is just to keep the forum tidy and user friendly.

An update:

As a last ditch effort, I send the scammer a final email ultimatum, contact me immediately, or I will turn the case over to a collection agency and file a police report in your city.

Guess what? After 1 month of ignoring my emails, he replies in less than an hour. He apologized and said he had moved and lost his internet connection. He also claimed he had a supplier problem and would send me a refund.

Yea, right, he is conducting business as a wholeseller and didn't check his yahoo email for a month? Web access is free in most libaries and who doesn't have a friend that would let you check your webmail.

A positive development certainly, well see what I actually get.

Its good to hear that he responded to you. Also I agree that you should avoid dealing with those "Free" email accounts. Edmonton IMO is a nice honest business place. Not known for Scams. Very Small Urban City
