Hi everyone.

I have recently found this place, and I hope I will stay here bit longer

Ok, my thing is: Recent economy informations says that UK is about to run out of honey. I do have a good source of honey to sell in bulk, yet I need kind of hint, how to find and contact potential buyers. Small investigation about the current prices would be usefull in further negotiations.

Any ideas?

As well - is it better to contact companies via phone or via email? From yours experience, which method seems to be more effective, more prefered by business partners?

I will be grateful for any advice.

Cheers!

Phones are more direct methods of communication. If you have a very strong interest and want fast results use the phone.

If it's a casual inquiry always use email. It's cheaper, but you probably won't receive a response for around 24 hours depending on how effecient the business is.

Just my two cents

Wow, that was pretty quick answer! Thanks guys.

Since I have your attention, I hope you won't mind if I ask some more questions.

From your experience, how cooperative are suppliers if asked (via phone call) about bulk prices of honey? I need to do some research before making any offer so I though it would be a nice idea to ask UK suppliers first. Would I need to act as a potential buyer in order to get such informations?? Maybe there is another way, yet being perfectly honest in that case may not work out.

If you want bulk pricing, it's always better to speak over the phone.

The supplier will know you mean business (no pun intended) if you speak over the phone. You will probably receive a better price and it's easier to negotiate .

Great... so I will call.

Just curious. I went through couple of books about marketing, self-help, self-development etc, yet suggestions from the real person involved in certain type of business would be very helpful.

What would you suggest than when calling? After introducing myself shall I go straight to the point or trying to make some "weather-banter"? I do not have much practice in business phone calls (yet I REALLY want to get them!), and I would love to avoid creating impression of beeing amateur.

In other words: "Learn how to sound professionally in 5 minutes" tutorial request

Get to the point pretty quickly - the people you will be talking to dont have a lot of spare time
