Any way to find if this supplier is real or fake?
I am about to make a transaction with a factory in China called 7wholesaler.com. I am buying hard drives from there company and they are giving it too me for cheap but only if I buy a bulk quantity of them which I intend to do. I read some threads about this company. Some stating that they are legit some stating they are a scam. How do I know this company is real or not? Should I contact China chamber of commerce? if so how do I do it to verify this information? Any one bought anything from them before? If so how was the quality was there issues with it when it arrived? Thank You.

Re: Any way to find if this supplier is real or fake?
Fake.
Couple of reasons;
- Selling branded goods. (It is highly unlikely that these are the real deal, if they send you anything at all)
- Their website is terrible.
- Whois Creation Date:
Updated Date: 21-may-2009
Creation Date: 21-may-2009
Expiration Date: 21-may-2010
Stay away.

The rule of thumb is usually 'You can't buy branded goods from China'

Re: Any way to find if this supplier is real or fake?
Pretty much.
Remember, branded goods are manufactured under strict licenses and regulations, they are therefore, not simply sold to anyone.

Re: Any way to find if this supplier is real or fake?
So if I did buy from a company in China would it be illegal if they shipped it to me?

You can buy unbranded goods from China perfectly well.
If you bought branded goods from China the issue of its legality wouldn't be relevant. You'd simply not receive the goods. Or if you did, they'd be fake.

Re: Any way to find if this supplier is real or fake?
There are volumes on this subject here on the forum.
Basically, here are the facts.
Many branded consumer products are MADE in China.
Hardly any Brand Owners (Sony, Apple, etc.) have authorized distribution WITHIN China.
Even if they should, the distributors are restricted from exporting the goods.
The "friend at the factory", "got a cousin that works there", etc. stories are just that, made up stories. Raw materials and components going in and finished goods leaving the factories are well audited. Most finished goods are loaded directly into containers for ocean or air transport.
Further, there are some scammers who will purchase and send genuine "sample orders" and then when the big money kicks in simply disappear.
You can't buy genuine branded goods from China.
(I sometimes get this lobbed back to me, since I sell refurbished Nintendo DS Lite consoles, but what I am selling are used / returned units remanufactured by independent factories, no longer considered actual Nintendo products.)
