Default new supplier in pakistan, trying to carry out checks on them..

Hi everyone,

so i know i've posted a bit about this already but would value your opinions.

we have found a supplier in pakistan and i've tried to carry out checks for the company being genuine this is what i've done:

1. emailed and asked for company reg number and tax number in pakistan- this has been sent through (scanned in certificates and emailed) and looks ok and dated 2005- anyone know how i can check it is genuine though?

2. asked for a reference- have had a ref for a company in germany who have replied to verify they trade with the supplier and that they are fine (web for the ref is www.surplus.de- what do you think?)

3. googled the supplier and found nothing connected with scams etc,
they are a verified gold supplier on alibaba and have been for 3 years.

4. have spoken on the phone to the supplier who was professional and helpful. very happy to send any info about the company through to us.

so is this enough, we will only place a small sample order first but am v cautious as newbee to this so any opinions appreciated.

thankies

Placing a small sample order is the only thing you can do now unless you can absorb the expense of flying over to meet them in person and see their facilities? What payment methods have they offered you?

As you say everything checks out & your only placing a small sample order, so why not just go ahead?

Surplus.de in germany is a good company - I have delt with them in the past purchasing battlevests and such like.

If you are after military type things let me know, I no longer trade in this area, so would be willing to help as much as possible.
