Re: Discount Etail for sale? Guaging interest.
Thanks for all your comments, PCD has hit the nail on the head. This is a great oppotunity for someone to rebrand or start something new, hence the description being business STARTER package.
Although I see everyones point with regards to the price I was hoping I would get some offers thrown at me to form a consensus about what the correct and fair figure would be.

Re: Discount Etail for sale? Guaging interest.
I've read though all this, and to be honest I am very confussed at what is being sold.
Firstly there is talk of an ebay account (although this isn't for sale), and you say that the business has no turnover, or profit / loss etc.
Then there is the you could use it for X, Y Z or whatever. So its all confussing. Are you just selling a domain and hosting, plus you TWF account? if so, i'll open the offers in the open forum at £10. Please don't shoot me down for that, but without more info, I would never offer more.
The more info I would like to see is:
Monthly hits on the domain
What the domain is currently used for. Is it a directory, or just an empty domain?
What have you used this for? Do you trade on it? Have you earnt any money in any way from this?
The OP talks of stock as well, I understand this would have to be negotiated, but what is it?
All i'm trying to get at, is wheather this is a going concern or not. Anyone could register a domain, and sell that with hosting, but its useless unless you having the history.
I don't mean to sound like i'm having a go, but would just like a little bit more info.

Re: Discount Etail for sale? Guaging interest.
Regretfully I'm too busy working on a current project to even think on taking on anything else. Great opportunity for someone here though. Any market traders out there with a mixed bag on their stall, this is the perfect online start-up.
Wouldn't be a bad idea Michael to get a market trader that you know to put a sign up on their stall for you. I've had more conversations than enough with other traders who are very eager to get online with their stock.
Anyway, whoever decides to take advantage of this opportunity, I'd say you couldn't get a more helpful bloke to aid the change of ownership. Best a luck.

DId you read the thread it aint hard.
Business name (Discount Etail)
Cubecart website with 7 months hosting - £32.50 per year after (depending on exchange rate) (http://discountetail.co.uk/)
Dascs pro eBay listing template with 8 months hosting - £30 per year after (look at dascs prices for costs)
Dascs pro eBay me page with 8 months hosting - £20 per year after (look at dascs prices for costs)
Dascs animated forum avatar (Available on the left hand side)
Professional Logo & letterhead (ask discount for a peep at this)
Email addresses
0844 Phone number
0844 Fax number
Trusted supplier list (used currently or within the last year) (but you dont have to use them)
Stock (optional) (again you dont have to buy it)
YOU ARE BUYING A BRAND
Webstats dont even come into it. Look at the website and decide how much it is worth with 0 traffic. Then look at the dascs Template prices for eBay.
Look at woolworths the brand was sold and when it was they did not go "i want it for free as it just went bust for 200mil" They did not ask for profit and loss, web stats, Last 10 years trading history etc.

Exactly right.

As far as I am aware eBay do not allow the sale of accounts (which is why it isnt on the list above), however, I have heard that account holders details can be changed very easily. The account has 500 feedbacks 100% postitive and DSRs of 4.9 - 4.9 - 4.8 and 4.7
|
That's over 500 satisfied customers who are familiar with Discountetail, so the brand is out there.

Re: Discount Etail for sale? Guaging interest.
Yes I did read the thread, and that is why I want to know more.
As you like to use a very well known household name, then so will I. When Woolworths was sold, it went through the same due dilligence as any other business transaction. And the most profitable part of that, is now back up and running. You just need to look at their trading / stock holders reports to see that.
So, why would anyone buy a brand, when they don't know what that brand has achieved in the past? Everyone knows Woolworths, and I think comparing Etail to Woolworths is like comparing the Swiss army to the Russian Army. It just dosn't go.
For a domain with zero traffic (like you thread says), a tenner is all anyone with half a brain would offer. If they even offered that much.
Woolworths was a brand that was long established and a household name. Anyone who brought that would make money, if they played it right. You knew the brand.
To put it another way, in a way you may understand, I'm gonna set up a company called pullthewoolovermyeyes.com, i'm gonna host it and set up the phone numbers etc, i'm gonna tell you nothing about it, but let you know that if you paid me £500, it can all be yours. I won't tell you what i've used it for, or if it's been any good for me. I will also tell you, that it will cost you MORE money very soon, when you have to pay for the hosting. I will also tell you that there is some stock if you want to negotiate on that, but I won't tell you what that stock is.
No-one is asking for promises of what future trading might be like, just what the past trading is.
No-one with a business brain, or any kind of dilligence, will buy a brand, just because they have been told its a brand. If you really want a brand, start your own. Its easier than taking someone elses, which you don't know if it has failed or achieved.
Plus, is it really wrong to ask questions when someone is selling something?
