Hello all. I have a question about flash drives. The suppliers on Alibaba are offering brand name Flash drives, top brand name flash drives. How do I know or how can I find out if they actually do have this product to supply or if I am being ripped off?
If I ask for samples, how many can I ask for.....do I pay for these or is it a good will gesture by them?
My main worry is I want to order some of these drives but I dont understand how they have the rights to supply them and how I can find out. I emailed a top brand today to ask them if this Alibaba supplier has the rights to supply their brand name goods btu as yet have not had a reply and also I dont know if I am putting my foot in it by saying I am talking to suppliers about their brand?
Can anybody guide me other suppliers or sites where I can trust who I am dealing with.
I just get the general feeling when it comes to brand names I cant trust Alibaba.
I started off a while ago excited about all this importing business but now I am finding it hard to see how it is possible to get started at all.
Thank you very much....any advice really will be very much appreciated.
Thank you
Daniel

I appologise but I think the answer to my hastilly posted problems are going to be answered in the stickies alone. I think I just need to slow down and look deeper than the first site I found with Google.lol
Sorry for wasting this space!!

Not a waste of space my friend - you have done well - many people post in haste then still don't find what they are looking for.

Welcome to the friendly forums and don't try to buy branded goods from china

Ian

Thank you. Could you please explain your reasons why I should not buy branded goods from china.
You see one of the main issues for me is that I dont have a lot of money to play with at all.
If I put my hand in my pocket right NOW all I could come up with is £300. I do have somebody who is thinking along the same lines as me that I am sure would be happy to put in the same again as a starting point. but thats still not a great deal of money.
I am soon to sell my car which will raise me about £5000 so I am sort of looking around at everything trying to find something i think is worth an investment and will make us enough to slowly take bigger steps...again maybe with some more money from my mate who has also been making inquiries.
I am just mentioning this as I would like you all to know where I am and what I am attempting to do. Small to start in other words.
ANYWAY....any help advice or guidance will be very much appreciated
Thanks
Daniel

The reason is simple, virtually all of the "brand name" products offered from China are fakes. Many are not available there at all, and those that are are usually as high priced or higher than elsewhere.

Do not believe "friend at the factory", "production over-runs", etc. Spend a bit more time reading if you do not want to listen to what is told to you, these lessons are repeated time after time on this forum and others.

Very simple thing to embed in your mind - You cannot source name brand products from China.

And one of the most copied of all is memory in all forms.

There`s no authorized wholesale distributors for most name brand goods in China. The few authorized distributors sell direct to retail, they do not export.

Search the corporate website for the brands, most companies list their authorized distributors.

Thank you. I did check Kingstons site today after talking with a supplier in China to see if they were an authorised distributor....and they were not. I even emailed Kingston International to double check and .....they definately were not !!
The supplier just seemed wrong from the moment I found their site....the site tried to hard to promote themselves as an authorised distributor, even displaying photographic proof of Authorised distributor certificates and their FAQ top question was basically "is your site authentic" lol
Thanks again
