Wholesalers without a website
I had a refreshing experience on Friday morning and think others should try the same. I paid a visit to a wholesalers warehouse and had a two hour conversation with a representative of theirs about products and lines that sell the best. It was the most productive couple of hours I spent in a long time.
The amazing thing about this wholesaler to me, was they don't even have a website. They have a huge range and will be able to provide me with 95% of stock I'll need. Up the point I came across them, I was set on using a supplier based in England where I was going to have to arrange my own shipping.
Logistically it was going to be tough with orders. Now with a wholesaler an hours drive up the motorway things will be so much handier. Seeing as they're not online they were hard to find. I found them by driving to a neighbouring town, going into a similar shop and just asked the guy working for advice on suppliers. He gave me their phone number and they invited me up for a walk around.
After this I really believe there's no substitute for meeting a supplier face to face if at all possible.

Re: Wholesalers without a website
Have to agree, there is a wholesale warehouse 10 minutes drive down the road from me, I have paid a couple of visits to them and am very impressed with what they supply. The team there are also very helpful...

Nice little read that.
Not all wholesalers have websites, Alot are still old school and because of the word of mouth over the years they dont really feel the need. But again nice1

Re: Wholesalers without a website
I've been preaching that for years. But everyone here is so techy, if someone doesn't have the latest and greatest flash website they are not worth considering. There are dozens of "Purveyors to the Crown" who have been around for centuries who don't have websites. And they'll still be around when North Korea zaps the Internet and we all join them in the stone age.

Re: Wholesalers without a website
Its a sad fact that some people have still not realised the power of the internet, and what it can do for your business.

You need to search by classification, then google the company name to see if they have a website.
