I could be wrong but didn't this forum have private messages?

you need to make a certain number of posts before you are allowed to use the pm facility. cant remember exactly how many off the top of my head, 5 or 10 i think

I think the idea of at least 10 posts before a private message is great. Especially on a forum like this.
