Registering
Q. How do I register and become part of the community?
A. Please read our
user agreement and proceed to the
registration form. Enter your details and confirm your email address to enable a member’s account. Don’t forget to
introduce yourself to the rest of community as a starting point, we are a friendly bunch.
Q. Can I register here free of unforeseen charges?
A. Our basic membership is free of charge, to advertise or take advantage of our commercial services however, please review our
advertising page for further information.
Q. Are there any rules or terms of use that I have to abide by when using this website?
A. Yes. There are quite a number of important terms you must read to ensure that you are informed as to how our community operates and the ways in which, you as a member, may use our services. Please find all of our
terms here.
Logging In/Logging Out
Q. I seem to be having a problem logging in? I enter my username and password and click login, then the page reloads and doesn’t actually log me in?
A. This is a common problem caused by your browser and is easily solved. You need to clear your browser cache and temporary internet files (also known as cookies). To do this on a Windows machine: Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Clear Browsing History. Once you have done this, re-open your browser and try logging in again.
Q. Can I save my username and password to avoid me having to login each time?
A. We wouldn’t recommend this if you are using a public computer or a machine accessed by anybody else but yourself on a regular basis. However, you can use the “Remember Me” feature by clicking the checkbox when entering your username and password.
Posting
Q. How do post a reply to an existing topic or create my own thread? What are threads and posts?
A. Threads are classed as individual topics and may contain one or more posts/replies. Posts are often referred to as the contents of Threads but confusingly are often referred to as the same thing. You can make a post, providing you have a members account and have confirmed your registration, by simply clicking the “Post Reply” or “Post Thread” buttons in a respective forum sub-section.
Q. I cannot make a post. The system tells me I don’t have permission?
A. This could be for a number of reasons. Firstly, have you completed our member’s registration process? Have you also confirmed your email address by following the activation steps outlined in the registration email? If you have done all of those steps successfully, you could be trying to post in a section that you don’t have adequate permissions to access. For instance, if you are trying to post a new topic/thread in our marketplace, only those with an
advertising membership may do this.
Q. I made a post and it seems to have vanished from view?
A. Your first port of call if you are certain that your post/thread was successfully posted are our
user agreement. You may have posted content or made a reference to something that breached our terms and therefore it had to be removed. If after
reading our terms you are still unsure as to why your post/thread was removed, please
contact us where we will attempt to assist you.
Q. I cannot post in the marketplace. I have products/services that I wish to offer to the community but the system will not allow me to do so.
A. You need an
advertising membership to do this. Our basic membership doesn’t provide you with access to commercial advertising on our community. Please see our
advertising information for further details.
Private Messaging
Q. How do I contact other members via Private Message?
A. You need 10 quality posts and have been registered on our community for 2 days in order for the private messaging facility to be activated. Once you have made 10 quality posts, your membership will automatically be upgraded within 2 hours and you can begin to send/receive messages to other members.
Q. How do I email other members?
A. We do not support email-to-email facilities here. Please use the private messaging facility to contact other members and our advertisers.
Signatures
Q. How do I add a signature to the bottom of my posts?
A. Only advertisers are permitted to have a signature appended below their posts on this community. If you are not an advertiser and do not have a valid membership, this feature is regretfully unavailable to you. For more information on advertising with us, please
see here.
