Equipment Manufacture - Europe????
I am looking for a Equipment Manufacture in the Europe area, that would be willing to make a military vest, in different camofloague patterns, in small runs? I have the master vest (my own (c) designed by me) and at this time use a factory in the Far East - the issues with this is it takes 10-15 weeks for delivery by sea from point of order?
Can anyone help?
Regards

By military vest, are you meaning a pure fabric/synthetic for wear, or has it a protective element? e.g. polymer or alloy based lining?
In other words, have you/do you need to source the materials separately or will the assembler be expected to do that?
Sorry to be a bit vague. I'm trying to tease out a more explicit description so that people may be in a better position to help.

I understand!!!!
So the vest is constructed in 1000 Denier Waterproof Cordura, with IRR Military Grade Mesh, along with sr25 buckles in both small and large size, various other small clips are used through construction.
All thread used throughout is rot free, zips are YKK and velcro is branded. All stress points are bar tacked.
It would be better from my point of view if the supplier could supply the material, I would supply complete plans as well as a vest to copy.
But if anyone has access to a good set of sewing machine people, in the UK, and would like to quote, I could supply material, depending on quote for vest itself.
By a small run, I would be looking at around 10-20 vests at a time, and if possible would like to purchase them around the same price I pay for them from the Far East - Bewteen £40 - £50 (UK Pounds) depending on qty ordered.
I would like to be able to supply in the following camoflague patterns:-
British DPM IRR
British Desert DPM IRR
Tan
ACU
CadPat
Hope someone has some ideas?
Regards

Cool, T34uk. I was thinking E Europe or Turkey may be a better bet than an EU country, if it couldn't be done in the Yorks/Lancs traditional textiles areas. Good luck. Hope it goes well for you.

Thanks I will keep posting how it goes......
But for now, they want the original version of my vest, to make a design plan from, along with some material to make the sample with. They give me a choice here, either I purchase 100m of the fabric (approx £600) or send over a smaller amount of my own material.
I will be sending over a smaller amount first!
They are happy to make in runs of 10 so all should be ok.
If you want to see what its all about have a look at http://www.warrior-webbing.co.uk/Land%20Warrior%20DPM%20Back.jpg
I will keep posting updates as they happen!

So are they sort of army rigs? Do you also have pouches and the such for them?

Hmm. They call it a vest now, eh. It was webbing when I wore it, and it wasn't as pretty.

The vest in the above link was designed by myself with UK Special Forces input, its based on an original design that the British SAS where making themselves (in house) but when they attempted to get it outsorced they were quoted around £300 per unit.
I cam in at a lot lower then that, and as they say the rest is history! Well it isn't I then outsorced the vest to a factory in the Far East, and for about 6 months they were great, they were making them at £50 per unit, I was selling them at £120 per unit.
But as with all things in the East it took ages to get the goods to the UK, so I have now (hopefully) moved production to Poland, and thus increased not only quality but delivery times as well.
The vest comes with pouches attached, but also has some that can be moved around should the end user require it. I have sold these vests so far into UK, US and Canada operational units (Army Special Forces), but would now like to break into the UK and European market place, and as such needed to get better delivery times!
regards
