La Martina - are there any authentic supplies out there??

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the boards - just joined today in fact, so go easy on me please.

I'm currently in test marketing phase and trying to source a genuine supplier of La Martina menswear. I want to specialise and become an expert in retailing this one brand only.

My fingers have already been burned by Ebay once for trying to sell La Martina polos.

Anyway, as you guys here are experienced wholesalers, does anyone know whether there are any genuine La Martina suppliers at all? Or are they all dealing in fakes??

Is it true that most distributors of designer goods will not go near business start ups? If so, is that why I have not received any reply from my attempts to contact La Martina themselves?

I'm not worried about paying the going rate for a 100% authentic supply of this growing luxury brand, so if anyone can offer me some advice on how and where to source the genuine articles I would be extremely grateful.

Now, I have read many threads here already, and I know most of the more experienced members here guard their suppliers jealously, and I don't blame you. But, if I represent no competition to you and I'm happy to pay for advice as well if it leads to a truly genuine La Martina supplier, please get in touch with any advice you're willing to spare.

The brand sells direct to retail,there's no authorized distributor.

Funny enough, I am currently in contact with their senior brand director as we speak. It's not looking promising though. Apparently, they don't even allow their own liscensed stores to sell online! I was hoping I could negotiate an online trading deal with them, but it seems like no go.

Makes you think then when so many online stores sell La Martina at the mo. Are they all breaking trademark law? Phew!

I might need to rethink my strategy here...

Somebody told me that La Martina is really complicate to found in wholesale. The brand sells direct to retail and the only way to get La Martina is to get it from one retail that bought it and closed.
