I think Liam had some good interest with a competition, I forget who the company was that did it. Also a mention from Vicky W former mod on her her page created good interest.

Perhaps we should help promote each others pages? Unless people want to keep their niches private...

Why not promote it via Facebook's PPC system?

    https://www.facebook.com/about/ads/

You can target your demographics down to exact age, interest, location, group belonging and other filters.

When we started ours we offered store cash to spend for best pic shares to get interest , worked out cheaper than PPC which can cost a fortune if not monitored correct

We offered a voucher that can only be collected if the person shares the pages with friends , and ran loads of prizes for best pic on a given theme. This generated the guys and girls talking to each other and they get a £5 voucher to spend which drove sales also

We have a client who is a professional photographer, no website, no selling channel, just a passion for taking amazing photographs - he's gifted. We got him started on Facebook earlier this year, set him up with a simple business page and custom username. Got him to spruce his page up with some nice photos and helped him organise his albums. Job done he though... not quite.
The client has an amazing library of photos but zero hits, no likes, nothing. So we ran him a Facebook ads campaign for 14 days with a budget of £15.00 per day and within 9 days, he went from 4 likes (one of them was from my own personal account) to over 2.5K! Now that is the power of Facebook advertising. He now gets messages and requests from some of the most hospitable regions in the world for some of his prints. He specialises in country manors and all this pageantry. The patriotic Royal bubble is certainly at an all time high so to summarise - Facebook ads are not to be overlooked. We've seen the power of these first hand. Set your budget and time frame and give it a whirl.

Facebook ads are really great for growing an audience. Pretty cheap too at the moment. Stumble upon premium is a great way of promoting content cheaply too.

I thought that sort of thing was not allowed on facebook, though? Unless you mean via a third party app, which of course is fine :)
