I live in Sweden which is not so far from England. Normally (if the supplier ships as promised) it takes 5-7 days.
Also it depends if the package is a gift or a normal package when it arrives.. I usually ask my supplier to write on the package "Gift" so the customs think it's a gift.
Since you are a private person and not a company this is the way to go.. It's different laws when it comes to import as a company..

Although I live in Sweden, the laws might be different in UK.. You should do a search

It depends what shipping company you've used. By the sounds of it I'm guessing China Post Air Mail or sea. If so, that's a fairly normal time to wait. It may arrive earlier, but not by much.

    Hope that helps!

Mate? I'm a lady, Madame will do nicely ;)

Depends on the weight, I only deal in things which don't weigh that much from China so can only really advise on that.

    DHL: 2 - 5 days
    UPS: 2 - 4 days
    FedEx: 2 - 5 days
    EMS: 5 - 10 days

I think there are other services out there but those are the ones I know about.

If you're shipping quite a lot over then somebody else will be of help to you.

How much did you pay the supplier?

How did you pay the supplier?

What research did you do on the supplier before you purchased?

What sort of goods did you purchase, i.e branded goods like Sony or Nike, or was it unbranded goods (no brand name)?

    Hi

I paid 810USD and paid via bank transfer into their business account

I took the advice from another site and cross referenced from their advertisements on other sites including their own I also contacted two UK buyers who use them.

The items are non branded camping equipment.

Well if you get reviews from buyers saying that they are satisfied with the purchase then perhaps you were lucky and actually found a legit seller.
I'm just hoping that you will get your products in time.

    Good luck

what has been your experiences with buying from china?

Do you get your items shipped by sea if so how long do you wait in average?

How do you verify your sellers?

    Cheers H

Normally,it's need about 27 days from ship start by sea from china to england.

If the goods isn't weight, you can choose DHL&UPS. And the DHL is cheaper than ups. it's need 3-5 days.

On the side ,the air transportation is a good choose when the goods exceed 200KG+. it's need 3 days to arrive the england airport.

What kind of items did you buy?
If they choose regular mail shipping ,it will take that long.
If you want it faster, you should pay for ems or dhl shipping
Dhl shipping is the fastest, it takes 4 to 5 days worldwide.

It takes around 5 to 7 business days from China to Europe, and about the normal express cost, you could check out the EMS price list...

About tax part, I wanna say something more, if it's just few items, you could mark as gift.. but if there are many of them, even you mark as gift, the custom won't believe anyway, on this occassion, you could lower the invoice amount, and get a CO.

Hi, I've heard there's custom fees if you choose UPS, is this true? Also, are there any custom fees for the other companies? I'm in the U.S. if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance.
