eBay has extended its offer of a ‘free online shop window’ for new businesses joining the platform for a further two months.

This means that new sellers joining eBay UK until 31 July 2020 or for 90 days after registration, whichever is earlier.

eBay has told us today that they are offering this to encourage new sellers and to help meet the increase in buyer demand during lockdown. As examples hot tubs and swimming pools are up 229% YoY as we all rush to make our homes a fully functioning venue, and clearly we are planning a hot relaxing summer of BBQs as firepits and chimeneas are 319% YoY.

Whilst a vast number of Amazon FBA marketplace sellers remain annoyed at their freezing of goods transit from the start of lockdown, they are looking for ways to diversify their business to avoid future risk, especially in the event of a second or even third wave. If there is, as many scientist are predicting, likely to be a resurgance in winter next year if a vaccine is not found, making sure you are not reliant on any one market is sensible, as is taking advantge of any offers out there and doing the gorund work now to ensure you aer up and running with good ratings in 6 months time.
