Fulfilment Centre Storage Types

anyone use a fulfilment centre? Please advise what storage options the company you use provides, do they offer pickable storage and palletised storage? Do you have the option to choose how many cases are stored in pickable and how many palletised, or is that something you rely on them to advise you of?

The reason I ask is because I have been using a centre for a few years and have now discovered they have stored the bulk of my goods in pickable storage, including sealed case packs, charged at a much higher rate, when they could have stored the sealed case packs on pallets at a cheaper rate. I didn't even know they had that option, but I feel that as I am relying on them to oversee the stock, they should have advised me. Statements only read "storage" or "space used", then changed to "volume based storage" and "pick storage". So I have basically paid unnecessary costs of in the thousands of pounds over the past few years.
