I too would love to know, all the stuff I get no matter how much I pay seems to be rubbish.

Have you thought about using crossweave tape - by far the strongest I've used

We just use gaffer tape on the heavier boxes, even the cheap £2.00 50m role is miles better than best brown tape we've found.

I use 3M Scotch tape. Never had any issues with it

Was tempted into buying the cheap unbranded tape.
Guess you get what you pay for. Was a load of rubbish. Never again

Yep. Use Scotch tape too - it's reliable, not like the unbranded stuff.

Vibac tape is one of the premium brands we buy and also sell actually. It is much better than 3M

3M as a brand have a lot of options - try 3M VHB Tape - it's very strong. I use it only when needed (I use 3M Scotch for normal purposes and VHB where I think it may be too weak)

I have been using mailshack.co.uk recently, great range of tape at very good prices and they also have a 5% discount code (EBAY5).

I've had no problems with small or large packing boxes upto 25kg
