This is on a more positive note from myself today, and hopefully more of an encouragement to other online sellers to optimise their website for mobile phone consumers.

Despite the troubling times the retail sector is going through, according to research, sales made via mobile phones grew up to around 19%, whilst sales on desktops dropped 36% to 41% in the years 2016 and 2017.

What is also great about this, other than online sellers getting with the times and optimising for mobile, is that it was predicted by the index report that mobile sales would grow up to only 14% in 2017.

Mobile is growing, and isn't just stopping there. Purchasing via voice is growing and something we can expect many online sellers to begin taking advantage of, and optimising for. With pretty much all of us on our phones, scrolling through endless amounts of content, it's no surprise mobile is winning.

However, let's make this clear, what's the betting a massive proportion of this percentage where purchased made on eBay and Amazon?

If you haven't as of yet optimised your website for mobile phone then this should be a huge priority for you. Google's ranking guidelines includes optimised website, so this makes sense to want to optimise right now.

Did you know, it's roughly estimated in the UK 59% of users and shoppers browse the web using their mobile phone, and during the times of 6am and 9am. During 2016 this estimate was just 43%.

You can use Google's Mobile-Friendly Test to see if your site is mobile-optimised.

Great article Cody! It seems all I ever read about these days is another retailer going under, so very encouraging to see that retail isn't dead!
