Apologies if this is a silly question but I've been away on several contracts for a while and have only just returned!

When I view threads in the marketplace, a lot of them, if not most of them, are locked, so I cannot reply to query or purchase items. Is there a new rule, or certain criteria I need to meet before I can purchase anything??

The marketplace is not as you once knew it! Advertisers can no longer post threads themselves, they are generated automatically from Stockshifters. If you see something you like, you'll have to click through to Stockshifters and play it that way.

What he said, you can still ask buyers a question via Stockshifters if you have any questions about the offer.

This stockshifters is a 3rd party establishment which pay this fourum (most likely as its a business afterall) for its members so to speak and you pay to work with them Evan tho through here

This fourum I gather is for discussions? Stockshifters are like a member themselves :)

Good idea as SS doesn't let you build relationships with a seller. I much preferred the other way but I guess times move on. I have dealt with several on here but I won't be purchasing anything from SS unless I know who is selling it.

Perhaps every advertiser on here should start a new thread every time they enter something on SS:)

Doesn't this defeat the purpose of this forum then, since everything is now on stock shifters instead?

It's a forum with a marketplace bolted on. There will always be a wealth of information here, with or without a marketplace.

I know what you are saying but my point is that I started using this forum to try and build relationships with sellers, I have built several but how am I supposed to build anymore when all you get is "vendor 99999"

Surely there is a way on SS to identify the sellers?
