Hi everyone, I am hoping to start a business and was wandering what's needed to register a business name.

Can it all be done online, when opening a business bank account what proofs do I need, how does a business get credit is it based on the person who's name the business is in, hoping someone can answer my questions or point me in the right direction for reading.

    Hi @TFF ,

    Name
Yes you can do online with companies house, you will have to choose a name that hasn't already been taken. They have some useful guides here - https://www.gov.uk/topic/company-registration-filing/starting-company oin how to do this. Or you can go through a third party, this is what I did as I liked having it managed in one central place and they send you filing reminders etc. I used EAC group holdings https://www.eacbs.com/login/

    Company Bank Account
You will need a registered name and share subscriptions. If you are just opening a debit account they won't need the same kind of credit rating - but it will depend per bank. You can either go traditional or we also have a Tide Account https://www.tide.co/ which took minutes to set up.

    Hope that helps!
