Called as “the virtual showcase for the Luxembourg retail market”, Luxembourg has created and launched, LetzShop.lu. A national ecommerce platform it aims to give urban shops the chance to sell their products online. This is an initiative from the Ministry of Economy while economic interest group in charge of setting and managing the platform.

Sellers who will be selling via this platform do not need to pay commissions on the transactions but they need to pay an annual contribution of 500 euros. Customers could either pick up the products directly from the physical stores or have them delivered to their home.

According to Francine Closener, Secretary of State for the Economy, "Luxembourgers are the champions of online shopping in Europe but currently, only 9% of the businesses in Luxembourg have ecommerce websites. The LetzShop.lu platform, aims to alleviate this imbalance by facilitating the sale of online merchants."
