i think it would be a good idea for members ages to show up in there avatar section
seems to be lots of younger people registered on the site and think it would put peoples minds at rest who there dealing with .
ie when advertisers get a enquirey about sales threads from a 13 year old .

any chance of adding this to the site?

    I completely disagree.
I don't think it matters what age someone is; you could be a fantastic seller at 13 and a scammer at 35.

It might be a good idea in terms of knowledge, in the respect that an older member at the age of 20-30 may have greater knowledge than a 13 year old?

No. It doesn't bother me. If I'm at the point where I'm about to order, I've already done my research and have a decent idea of what I'm dealing with.
What difference does it make knowing their age?

I'd imagine the majority of time-wasters aren't 15 year olds, but 18-21 year olds (students often) without any money to spend on stock.

Most 15 year olds would give an inclination to their age.

So you wouldn't sell to a 13 year old?

Unless the products were for those aged 18+ I'd say you were being ageist!

Very true, unless you are an advertisor then you will never have to prove your age.

I really do see what Mr British is getting at though, you may not want to deal with some so young, due to legal issues should anything go wrong. But all you can do is try to suss them out yourself.

I would also agree with the fact that the "young uns" (sorry guys) we have here are perhaps the least likely to scam you!!
Look at Popcorn, WholesaleGuru87, Prized Jewel etc... we all know they are young and they dont hide that fact.

I would be more concerned about other things tbh.

If all is legal then i really have no issue.. I think it's easy to guage age in any case, only my opinion.

If there suddenly is a witchhunt against young people (e.g. everyone treating teenagers with no respect, assuming they are timewasters) sends out a very negative message about this forum as a whole.

What it also does is encourage young people to like about their age in order to be taken seriously.

    What popcorn and Will said.
Turning down business because of age borders on discrimination in my book.

Actually how much would you love to have access to a school?

What a potential base for selling if you have the inititive.

I just hope I know you in a 10 years popcorn, I will be looking for handouts...

lol never been called ageist before many other things but not that .
im not saying i wouldnt deal with a younger person money is money .
like tracy said thinking of the legal point also i think it would be handy if peoples ages were next to avatars .
wouldnt have entered my head before as this is a wholesale forum but it seems there are more and more kids on here everyday.
i know the ages could not be policed enless they were advertisers but tbh i doubt most people would lie.
got no problems with kids makeing some money but it does cross your mind that some enquireys come from people who are not old enough to buy fags or go and watch a porno but there asking for 50 wii consoles.
