    Hi All
Is it legal to add your brand label to styles from a Chinese clothing wholesaler when the product is unbranded or has an unknown brand label?
    Thanks for your thoughts

    Hi Helen,

Lets hope this previous thread helps you out. Link here.

From the discussions created in that thread, it is all down to the original manufacturer (not the wholesaler) who would be happy and approve of you branding their unbranded products. In short, you cannot put your brand on someone else's clothing without their permission.

Let's see what others say to the discussion.

    Thanks for posting!

    Thanks Cody for your reply.
Most items are from a Chinese manufacturer so they are an unknown name or there is no label at all therefore it may be hard to identify the source. The wholesaler is offering a label service so I hope this would have been approved with their contacts.

If the clothing is unbranded and the manufacturer offers an OEM labelling service this shouldn't be an issue, however you would probably be best to not relable existing brands without permission, even lesser known ones.

    All the best!
