re: Royal Mail Claims Process for Loss, Damage & Delay This is a great post with all the links in one location. I hate the paper royal mail claim form tho.
re: Royal Mail Claims Process for Loss, Damage & Delay I am going probably going to have to make my first claim this week, so thanks for the info.
re: Royal Mail Claims Process for Loss, Damage & Delay It seems you need the original receipt to get compensation. I have just had a claim knocked back on something I sold. Unfortunately I bought it in the states in the 80's and have no receipt or idea how much I paid. It was more than I just sold it for but apparently that is not the point. My advice, dont bother with recorded and only expect compensation if you have you purchase receipt.
re: Royal Mail Claims Process for Loss, Damage & Delay Thanks for putting all the info in one place Martin! I think this should be a sticky so everyone can use it.
re: Royal Mail Claims Process for Loss, Damage & Delay Only just seen this Martin, but great post and should be stickied
Great contribution Martin. I've pinned this to the top of the category and will tweet about it later today.
Who's been making posts they shouldn't have? Please don't ruin it. Its only taking me 3 years to get a sticky.
Just updated thread with additional information at bottom of first post. Restricted goods Prohibited items
You cant claim for any losses any more - even if you send 1st class recorded and it goes missing! This is going to cause a lot of problems in the future, people wont be reporting losses as they cant claim for them. This will mean royal mail wont have marks against people saying they havent received multiple items and sending letters to those people to stop them, the people that say they havent received parcels when they have will get away with it everytime! You can still claim for International parcels. Paul
Its worth noting that this only applies to business account customers (PPI etc). You can still claim for any items that use stamps or are paid for at a post office, whether you're a business or personal customer. I also think you can still claim for losses if you use franking.
